Monday Morning Video – Rose Cousin’s “Grace”

Monday, February 27, 2017 By Mayer Danzig

Although she lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Rose Cousins has spent enough time in Boston to become an honorary member of the local folk family. The singer-songwriter has just released Natural Conclusion, an album both graceful and poignant.

Cousins worked with producer Joe Henry who, as he had done with others, takes a restrained approach that lets the songs live and breath. It also places an emphasis on Cousin’s voice and her lyrics of vulnerability and heartbreak.

Here’s a particular favorite, the evocative “Grace.”

About the author:  Mild-mannered corporate executive by day, excitable Twangville denizen by night.
