A SXSW favorite for the past two years, Band of Heathens release their own brand of Lonestar State countrified rock and soul. Formed as a result of a regular shared billing at Austin’s Momo’s, the three original songwriters (Colin Brooks, Ed Jurdi and Gordy Quist) banded together in 2006 to form this soon to be legendary act. Drummer John Chipman joined in early 2007 to solidify the grouping. For the Twangville proud, the self-titled recording has been eagerly anticipated. File under: Rock / Americana / Soul
