WILLIE NELSON, Moment Of Forever (Lost Highway)
Official Site | MySpace | Stream
In a reminiscient of Johnny Cash’s remake of the Nine Inch Nails single “Hurt”, Willie Nelson has taken a crack at singing Dave Matthews’ “Gravedigger”. His latest album ‘Moment of Forever’ shows us that his bio-diesel fueled career in music has no plans of slowing down. At first it may seem strange that one of country music’s so-called outlaws has teamed up with Kenny Chesney the producer of ‘Moment of Forever’. That is until you remember that Willie has few if any enemies. He has a true respect for all musicians from country music and beyond doing this sort of thing his entire career with artists like Julio Iglesias, Ray Charles, Ryan Adams and Toby Keith. From “Gravedigger” to the oddly solid “The Bob Song” to the closing cover of Bob Dylan’s “Gotta Serve Somebody” ‘Moment of Forever’ is yet another great record in Nelson’s long, enduring career.
