Twangville Picks the Best So Far in ‘08

We at Twangville have been fortunate to hear some great music in the first half of ’08. I polled the crew on their favorites are here are the results:

    The Old 97’s album is a return to their great old stuff like Fight Songs and Too Far to Care. One of their best.

    I don’t know if we can count reissues…but if we can, I’m gonna have to say the Youngbloods record Elephant Mountain. The Justin Townes Earle album “The Good Life” is pretty top notch as well…

    Gotta go with the DB Truckers at #1as well, with Carll at #2, Kathleen Edwards #3 and The Hold Steady #4. Great year for music!

    really tried with the truckers album, but they havent done it for me since isbell left..the new albums’s just too long……really like the new elbow album ” seldom seen kid”, the bon iver is excellent, so’s the fleet foxes, and the band of heathens…like the new hold steady, but was disappointed with them live again the other week, the sound man ruined it for me……
