Monday Morning Video – Bottle Rockets

Monday, June 08, 2026 By Mayer Danzig

What better way to start a Monday than with a band that wrote the definitive song about it? This week’s video runs 40 minutes of the Bottle Rockets live, and yes, “Monday (Everytime I Turn Around)” is in there — along with “Dog,” “XOYOU,” “I Don’t Wanna Know,” “Ship It On the Frisco,” “Shape of a Wheel,” and “Something Good.”

These songs stuck around after the band parted ways because they’re plainspoken, a little ornery, and built to last.

This Thursday, June 11, Twangville presents Welfare Music: A Tribute to the Bottle Rockets at Lucinda’s in the East Village. The lineup spans two generations: contemporaries like Eric Ambel, who produced the band, along with Rhett Miller and James Mastro — and a new generation of artists who came up on these songs. See the full lineup here.

Are you gonna hear some of these songs on Thursday? We think you might…
