Josh Ritter + More, Album Previews

Tuesday, August 21, 2007 By Tom Osborne

Josh Ritter, ‘The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter’ (Partial CD [source: JoshRitter.com])

album cover “Wise beyond years” is a phrase that comes to mind when listening to Josh Ritter. He seems to have incredible insight into humanity all the while being tremendously adept at making great music. The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter, his fourth studio recording, continues a pattern of historical and biblical references drawing well warranted comparisons to Dylan and Springsteen. For anyone whose heard his previous albums, expectations will be high. A quick preview of the album tells me Ritter’s raising the bar yet again. File under: Rock / Indie / Folk Rock
