Residents of Twangville favored a diverse range of new music so far in 2007, ranging from Wilco to Tori Amos to the Beastie Boys. Among the Twangville crew, Patty Griffin respectfully ruled the roost. A complete list of submitted albums is included below.
Congratulations to Kimberly Cole from Colorado, the randomly selected winner of our Best Yet in 2007 contest! Kimberly will be receiving a copy of the new Ryan Adams cd as well as a limited edition promotional poster courtesy of Filter Magazine.
Honorable mention goes to Chris who wrote about Jimmy Rankin’s new release. Jimmy’s “Followed Her Around” was a favorite from the 2006 SXSW Music Conference and I am happy to hear about a 2007 release.

And what were my favorites, you ask? They are Dennis Brennan’s Engagement –a rich amalgam of country, soul and rock — and the emotionally engaging soundtrack to the movie “Once”.
And don’t forget to submit your favorite soul song and artist here for a chance to win Marc Broussard’s new release S.O.S.: Save Our Soul. That contest ends today at midnight ET.
