Loudon Wainwright & More, Album Previews

Tuesday, May 22, 2007 By Tom Osborne

Loudon Wainwright III, Strange Weirdos: Music from and Inspired by the film Knocked Up (Full CD)
album cover Don’t let the fact that Loudon Wainwright‘s new album is tied to a movie deter you. Strange Weirdos found its way onto the Knocked Up soundtrack through director and diehard Wainwright fan Judd Apatow. Much of the album’s material preceded the film and some of it is in the form of instrumentals in the movie while being lyrical on the album. Its definitely worth a listen for the folker in you. Enjoy the soulful “X or Y”. File under: Folk.

Worth Mention:

  • Jeff Buckley, So Real: Songs From Jeff Buckley (Full CD)
  • The National, The Boxer (Full CD)
  • The Bravery, The Sun and the Moon (Full CD)
  • Voxtrot, Voxtrot (Full CD)

Also Look For:

ADRIENNE YOUNG, ANTSY MCLAIN AND THE TRAILER PARK TROUBADOURS, JOAN OSBORNE, RICHMOND FONTAINE, UNCLE MONK, WRINKLE NECK MULES and more.

See our Release Calendar for more new releases like these.
