The Damnwells & More, Album Previews

album coverIf you love The Replacements and Wilco the way I do, you’ve got to check out the latest from Brooklyn-based band, The Damnwells. I’ve haven’t been through the whole disc yet because I keep getting caught on standouts “Golden Days” and “You Don’t Have to Like Me to Love Me”. If you don’t look into any other songs on the album, you must hit those two. Check out the full album stream linked below or hear “Golden Days” on our MySpace profile as Song of the Week.

As always, see our Release Calendar to see the week’s mentionable releases.

Would you mind not directly linking to the mp3 that I’m hosting? It eats up my bandwidth, and if I go over certain limits, then I have to pay more.

  2. Tom Says:

Sure,Taylor, I’ll pull down the link. But I think Twangville is the least of your worries. I found you on The Hype Machine. Our traffic is minute in comparison.

  3. Taylor Says:

Yes, I know, but the Hype Machine doesn’t link directly to the file, it links to the post, which is much smaller in size than the mp3. You dig what I’m saying? I don’t mind links to my blog, I just don’t want direct links to the mp3s.

  4. Tom Says:

Ah, it looks like Hype Machine caches “frequently accessed” tracks as they put it.

Some of the frequently accessed tracks are cached by the Hype Machine server, much like Google Search caches web pages, to reduce load on the bloggers’ servers and protect their bandwidth.

Still, it surprises me that you haven’t seen bandwidth issues beyond our site. Thanks for sharing the song.
