The Lemonheads & More, Album Previews

THIS WEEK’S ELITE:
album coverThe Lemonheads, The Lemonheads (Vagrant)
alternative, rock
Alt rock master Evan Dando and The Lemonheads are back after a 10-year hiatus this time with new members. Thankfully, they picked right back up where they left off. Just rockin’. Start with track #7, “No Backbone”. Here’s a download for you courtesy of the AOL Music Indie Blog.

The Lemonheads, “No Backbone” (MP3)

album coverAlan Jackson, Like Red on a Rose (Arista)
country
Jackson is usually too mainstream country for me, but his latest (produced by Alison Krauss) brings us something different and warrants a new look.

WORTH MENTION:
Some oldies but goodies…
Jerry Lee Lewis, Last Man Standing, The Duets (Artist First)
John Lennon, The US vs. John Lennon (Capitol)
George Harrison, Living in the Material World (Capitol)

MISSED OPPORTUNITIES (high anticipation, no apparent album stream):
Lucero, Living in the Material World (Liberty & Lament)
A great alt.country band out of Memphis, TN. I couldn’t find a full album stream but there are a few tracks available for sample on their web site and MySpace profile.

See our Release Calendar for more.
