John Hollier (pronounced oh-lee-ay) is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter with French-Cajun roots, raised on a crawfish farm in central Louisiana. His music draws on that background — phrases, locations, and arrangements that nod to the region and his family’s French heritage — layered into a sound built from rock and roll, heartland influences, and southern storytelling. His debut album, “Hollier,” was released in 2023, produced by Eric Masse, and featured Madi Diaz alongside a studio band drawn from Cage the Elephant, Deer Tick, and Miranda Lambert’s touring group.
Since then, John and his band have opened for Red Clay Strays, Randy Rogers Band, The Cadillac Three, American Authors, and Flatland Cavalry, and performed at Jazz Fest 2024 (main stage), CMA Fest, and Americana Fest. His most recent album, “Rainmaker,” was released earlier this year.
Zoë Pete Ford cut her teeth in the Brooklyn indie rock scene as a versatile multi-instrumentalist, playing drums, guitar, and keys for local bands before stepping into the spotlight as a solo songwriter. Those years behind the kit and across different rhythm sections forged her sharp sense of arrangement and gave her a deep respect for the energy of live performance—qualities that now anchor her solo career.
Operating with a true DIY ethos, she channels that background into a genre-blending sound spanning rock ’n’ roll, punkabilly, blues, and country. Her catalog—anchored by her 2023 release Life’s a Cigarette and 2025’s One Of The Guys—pairs sharp lyricism with road-tested grit, driven by character-rich storytelling filled with bootleggers, backseat beauty queens, and road-weary wayfarers.
Jeff Black introduced himself with “Birmingham Road,” recorded with the members of Wilco and produced by Susan Rogers, whose credits include Prince and David Byrne. Sam Bush has been one of his most consistent champions, recording a number of Black’s songs over the years, including “Same Ol’ River” and “Gold Heart Locket,” and Black co-wrote the title track to Bush’s Grammy-nominated album “Circles Around Me.” BlackHawk carried two of his compositions onto the country charts: “That’s Just About Right” hit the Top 10, and “King of the World” reached the Top 30.
His songs have found their way onto film and television soundtracks as well, including “The Thing Called Love,” the PBS documentary “The Appalachians,” and “Steel City,” winner of the Sundance Film Festival’s Grand Jury Prize for Best Drama.
Black’s recent work includes sessions at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals and a residency at Macy Sound Studios in Rockport, Texas, recording a collection of solo performances for release on the Coastal Bend label. New Shot/Italy has released a live album recorded at Teatro Bogart in Cesena, Italy, in 1996. Black is currently writing songs for a new studio album due in 2027, and lives in Nashville.
