Monday Morning Video: Alejandro Escovedo with Los Lobos

Monday, June 25, 2012 By Mayer Danzig

Monday Morning Video: The Waterboys

Monday, June 18, 2012 By Mayer Danzig

Here’s my question for the day: how come I never had an assembly like this when I was in grade school? Here’s Mike Scott of the Waterboys performing “The Whole of the Moon” for a group of schoolchildren in Ireland. And the best part? The kids know the words and sing along!

Monday, June 04, 2012 By Mayer Danzig

My spring playlist features a killer track from The Right Ons‘ recent release (listen and download here). Well, the boys also made a Beatles-inspired video for the explosive track “On The Radio.” Turn it up loud and enjoy.

One of the highlights of SXSW is Alejandro Escovedo’s Sunday Night Extravaganza. And, as I’ve written here, one of the highlights of this year’s show was seeing Mike Barfield. Here’s a classic video from the Barfield archives. Let’s get funky now.

The keynote speech was clearly geared towards the musicians in attendance. Springsteen delivered a rollicking history of rock and […]
