It’s time like these when music can really soothe the soul. All the better when it’s from an artist that you’ve probably never heard – or even heard about – before. Meet Texicana, purveyors of a fresh new rock sound emerging from Dallas, Texas.
Like many a good band, the group came together at a dive bar with a good jukebox. Their ascent from that point has been rapid, with the band winning local music awards before they had even recorded any of their own music. Their reputation was earned on the basis of live shows that burst with electricity and feel good vibes, bringing together equal parts Tom Petty and Big Star.
Well, the time has come for the quintet to announce their debut EP – No Good Reason – and unleash the lead off track. “Little Bit Of Love†is a rowdy mix of rock and soul, the type of song that you’d have gloriously heard blaring from an FM radio back in the 1970’s. Hearing it digitally today will undoubtedly fill you with the urge to put it on repeat, cranking up the volume a bit more with each listen.
No Good Reason arrives on 8 May. In the meantime, enjoy the premiere of “Little Bit of Love†(and pre-save it here).
