Although he’s originally from New Jersey, Jonah Tolchin put out a scorching southern rock road song a couple of years ago that, in the live version, seems just on the brink of launching into Radar Love, perhaps the best road song ever. The title cut of that album, Thousand Mile Night, was a good proxy for several songs on the album that featured some good story telling by Tolchin layered on top of southern-style guitar interplay and recorded at FAME Studio in Muscle Shoals.
Later this year Tolchin is bringing out a new album and as a teaser he’s releasing a video. That first tune, Drift Away, is more introspective and acoustic than Thousand Mile Night. It’s a reminder to not hang on to negativity and keep looking ahead. We’re pleased to premiere that video here on Twangville, and looking forward to hearing more from Tolchin this fall.
