Although he’s originally from New Jersey, Jonah Tolchin put out a scorching southern rock road song a couple of years ago that, in the live version, seems just on the brink of launching into Radar Love, perhaps the best road song ever. Â The title cut of that album, Thousand Mile Night, was a good proxy for several songs on the album that featured some good story telling by Tolchin layered on top of southern-style guitar interplay and recorded at FAME Studio in Muscle Shoals.
Later this year Tolchin is bringing out a new album and as a teaser he’s releasing a video. Â That first tune, Drift Away, is more introspective and acoustic than Thousand Mile Night. Â It’s a reminder to not hang on to negativity and keep looking ahead. Â We’re pleased to premiere that video here on Twangville, and looking forward to hearing more from Tolchin this fall.
