It’s Time for Our Next Sunday Social in Dallas

Wednesday, March 11, 2026 By Mayer Danzig

There’s a specific kind of magic that happens when the sun starts to dip over a Dallas afternoon and the music takes hold. If you’ve been to a Twangville Sunday Social, you know exactly what we mean. If you haven’t? Well, April 19th is your chance to find out.

All three of our featured artists now call Nashville home, but the worlds they draw from couldn’t be more different — Louisiana soil, Texas plains, and a restless musical curiosity that defies easy geography.

THE ARTISTS

  • Kevin Gordon has spent a career excavating the characters, landscapes, and hard-won truths of his Louisiana home — and there’s no one quite like him doing it. His guitar work is raw and lived-in, his songs the kind that pull you deep into his world and don’t let go.
  • Miss Tess has spent a career mastering the full sweep of American roots music — country swing, rhythm and blues, folk, and jazz — and she brings it to life with an energy and authenticity that few can match. Her most recent album took her deep into Louisiana’s bayou roots, and she navigated that terrain with the same mastery she brings to everything she touches.
  • Joelton Mayfield’s debut album was ten years in the making, and worth every bit of the wait. The Texas-reared, Nashville-based songwriter writes songs that don’t flinch — honest portraits of real life, where melody and tension pull against each other and the song is better for the fight.

It wouldn’t be a Sunday Social without beer (provided by Heineken USA) and BBQ (courtesy of 1888 Hand Pressed Olive Juice). Our thanks, as always, to presenting sponsor Venturity and additional support from Kasey Pozzi Real Estate and Hand Drawn Pressing. None of this happens without them, and we’re grateful every time.

We hope to see you April 19th!
