Saturday morning brought some heartbreaking news: Todd Snider, the East Nashville icon and beloved storyteller, had passed away. The initial reaction seemed hesitant, as if all were in collective disbelief. But very quickly, an overwhelming outpouring of grief and remembrance flooded social media, filled with moving and often humorous stories about how Snider had touched so many lives with his songs, his stories, and his friendship. He filled his music with wit and wisdom and brought it to life with his colorful personality, creating a legacy that extended far beyond the notes and words themselves.
Let’s celebrate his life and legacy with a few Snider classics, including “Can’t Complain”, “Alright Guy”, and “Looking for a Job”. And we’ll close with an acoustic cover of BTO’s “Takin’ Care of Business” – proof that Snider could make any song his own.
And while you’re listening to Todd at his finest, you can also revisit our 2021 interview with him. It’s one of our favorites…
