It’s Thanksgiving week in the US so it seems like an appropriate time for us to give thanks to everyone who makes Twangville such a special place. And as we approach our 20th year, we’ve got a lot to be thankful for – starting with the artists who share their talents and continuing through to all of you who follow along with our musings here, the socials, and our periodic in-person showcases.
What better way to express our thanks than via the legendary Big Star. Here are two versions of their classic “Thank You Friends”. First, a version from 1994 with original members Alex Chilton and Jody Stephens, joined by the Posies’ Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow. Then, from last year, Stephens and Auer alongside Mike Mills, Chris Stamey and Pat Sansone.
