It’s hard to believe that Sha Sha, Ben Kweller’s debut record, is more than 20 years old (even older if you count the original self-released version). It launched Kweller as one of power pop’s shining lights, a place that he still holds today.
Kweller is celebrating the anniversary with a handful of shows across the country. Come on out to hear some classics from that debut release, not to mention plenty of other gems from throughout Kweller’s career.
In the meantime, here are two Sha Sha faves for your enjoyment. First, “In Other Words” and “Wasted and Ready” from a tv appearance when the album was released. Second, an acoustic version of “Commerce, TX” from this year’s Austin City Limits Festival.
