Monday Morning Video – Robertson, Rodriguez, and O’Connor

Monday, August 14, 2023 By Mayer Danzig

It’s been a rough couple of weeks in the world of the music. The passing of Robbie Robertson, Sixto Rodriguez, and Sinead O’Connor have taken from us three artists who, each in their own way, made an indelible mark on audiences around the world.

Here is a brief video playlist that features just small pieces of their work. First up is Robbie Robertson, backed by Dawes, performing “He Don’t Live Here No More” from 2011’s How to Become Clairvoyant followed by vintage footage of The Band and their classic “It Makes No Difference”. From Rodriguez, we get a full band performance of “I Wonder” and a solo take on “Like Janis”. O’Connor closes out the playlist with powerful performances of “Nothing Compares 2 U” and “The Last Day of Our Acquaintance”.
