It says something when a diverse array of artists – Iggy Pop, Shirley Manson & Garbage, Kings of Leon, and Incubus – team up to perform one of your songs. But when you’re talking about Chrissie Hynde, it really isn’t much of a surprise. Hynde and the Pretenders are gearing up for both a new album (Relentless, scheduled for release on 15 September) and a stadium tour opening for Guns N’ Roses.
Here are the aforementioned fans joining Hynde and the Pretenders on “Middle of the Road” and the Pretenders performing a stripped down version of their classic “Back on the Chain Gang”.
