With the passing of Ronnie Spector, another rock and roll legend has been taken from us. Spector leaves behind a tremendous musical legacy, one that led to the Ronettes being inducted into the Hall of Fame (with an induction speech by Keith Richards). Below is that night’s performances of the group’s signature “Be My Baby”.
Spector has also inspired countless musicians over the course of her career, including Alynda Segarra of Hurray for the Riff Raff. Segarra and company share their take on the classic in this wonderful performance captured in the front yard of a houe in the lower 9th Ward of New Orleans.
Scroll down even further for a vintage ~1997 clip of Spector and Joey Ramone covering Johnny Thunder’s “You Can’t Put Your Arms Around a Memory”.
