Earlier this year Norway’s The Northern Belle honored John Prine with an exquisite version of the late singer-songwriter’s “Summer’s Endâ€. Now that summer really is coming to an end, the group is marking the occasion with the release of a new mini-album called The Women In Me.Â
The album’s opening track really sets the tone for the collection. “Kaleidoscope Dream” is a magical concoction that blends sinewy guitars and simmering organ with a wash of vocal harmonies. While the song retains the group’s buoyant charm, it does have a somewhat brooding and deliberate lyrical tone that reflects the disconcerting times in which we’re living.Â
Twangville is honored to premiere “Kaleidoscope Dream†from The Northern Belle’s forthcoming The Women In Me.Â
As a special bonus, here’s The Northern Belle’s version of “Summer’s End”.
