Monday Morning Video – Dennis Brennan

Monday, December 28, 2020 By Mayer Danzig

I really miss live music. In fact, it’s something of a tradition for me to ring in the new year at a live musical performance. Alas, it ain’t gonna happen this year.

But I’m hopeful that sometime in 2021 you’ll be able to find me again at a show. Ideally lots of ’em.

In that vein, I’ve been thinking about the show with which I want to celebrate my musical return. High on the list – Dennis Brennan at the Lizard Lounge.

Both Brennan and his Wednesday night residency are Boston institutions. He and his crack band are musical encyclopedias, shifting effortlessly from rock to country to R&B. They intersperse Brennan’s outstanding originals with an eclectic collection of covers.

Here’s a taste – Brennan & Company performing his composition “Just My Luck”. At the Lizard, of course.

About the author:  Mild-mannered corporate executive by day, excitable Twangville denizen by night.
