Video Premiere – Drew Aron

Wednesday, November 18, 2020 By Shawn Underwood

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about Drew Aron’s debut release, Familiar Faces. It’s a mostly auto-biographical story about a musician finding himself in a city flooded with artists finding themselves. There are some lighter moments to be sure, but there is a lot of material to fuel a lot of songs (which is a writer’s way of saying it was a struggle).

Aron came out the other side with a new musical style that clearly carries some inspiration from the music that came out of the canyons northwest of LA in the 60’s and 70’s. It’s heartfelt and relatable, set to a slightly twangy folk rock base. The title track captures all those spirits in an ode to knowing what’s the right thing to do, even as you do something else. We’re pleased here at Twangville to premiere the video to that song, Familiar Faces.

About the author:  I've actually driven from Tehatchapee to Tonopah. And I've seen Dallas from a DC-9 at night.
