No Fun – a Premiere from The Americans

Monday, June 15, 2020 By Mayer Danzig

We’re gonna do something different this week for our Monday Morning Video. Los Angeles-based The Americans were gearing up to release the follow-up to 2017’s I’ll Be Yours when, well, you know what happened.

Of course even a pandemic can’t keep a good band down. Not surprisingly, the Americans have passed the time playing music. Among their chosen songs was “No Fun”, originally written and recorded by Iggy Pop and the Stooges for their debut album back in 1969. It’s a song that captures the stir craziness of quarantine as well as the cathartic punk rock release that many of us need.

Twangville is thrilled to premiere the video for “No Fun” by The Americans. The video was shot in the West Adams district of Los Angeles and was directed and edited by Jillian Martin and Robert Dalsey. Play it loud.

It’s no fun to hang around
Feeling that same old way
No fun to hang around
Freaked out for another day
