Let’s start the week with a question. Why aren’t Los Lobos in the Rock Hall of Fame? Over their more than 45 year career, they’ve demonstrated a mastery of broad musical styles alongside a tremendous commitment to artistic creativity and craft. Their live performances bring this range to life with an infectious energy.
Here are a trio of videos from throughout their career. We’ll start off with their classic “Will the Wolf Survive,” captured at a 1987 NYC appearance. Then we’ll segue into their collaboration with Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead on Woody Guthrie’s “This Land Is Your Land”. We’ll close things out with a performance, joined by Robert Randolph, of “Don’t Worry Baby” from their recent induction into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame.
