Monday Morning Video – Rod Picott and Slaid Cleaves

Monday, October 15, 2018 By Mayer Danzig

Rod Picott and Slaid Cleaves have one of the more enjoyable – and long-standing – partnerships in Americana. The two are childhood friends who grew up (and played in bands) together in Southern Maine.

In the years since they’ve collaborated on some wonderful songs that capture the blue-collar life with both charm and honesty. It’s hard to not get lost in the their story-teller’s eye for detail combined with a melodic sense of melancholy.

Here’s a gem that they co-wrote and both recorded on their most recent albums, Cleave’s Ghost on the Car Radio and Picott’s Out Past the Wires.
