Standing in the Newport Folk photo pit with my telephoto zoom lens, I couldn’t help but notice that many of the musicians had seriously interesting and awesome tattoos. This struck me and I tried to capture them as best I could. Jason Isbell has a quote from Bob Dylan’s “Boots of Spanish Leather” as well as a matching sparrow and anchor with wife Amanda Shires. Noah Gunderson from Glorietta has so many that it was tough to focus on just one. And what do you think is the meaning of Tyler Childers’ tattoo on his ring finger? Anyway, here’s my collection- until next year, Newport!!
