Monday Morning Video – Fats Domino

Monday, October 30, 2017 By Mayer Danzig

“Blueberry Hill” may not have been the first rock and roll song that I heard, but it certainly stands as one that left a lasting impression. Rather than the music and lyrics, it was Domino’s personality and enthusiasm that captivated my attention. The smile on his face, as infectious as it was, paled in comparison to the joyfulness that coursed through his music.

Here are two vintage Domino performances. First, the aforementioned song from an Austin City Limits show. Then, a 1980’s performance of the Fats Domino Rhythm & Blues Explosion from the Netherlands.
