It’s easy to forget that being a professional musician is about more than music. This is even more true for the independent artist who will spend the day doing everything from stuffing merch envelopes and hanging show posters to trying to coordinate tour logistics from behind the wheel of the tour van.
With that as a backdrop, Twangville is proud to present an evening with two of our favorite DIY performers:
Thursday, May 4th @ 8pm
Outpost 186 (Cambridge MA)

Lucas and Blakeslee are masters at the art of being a DIY musician. Aside from being an outstanding songwriter and musician, Lucas has built his career by hitting the road and connecting with fans wherever and whenever possible. A YouTube survey reveals clips of him playing kitchens, record stores, parking lots and, well, just about anywhere. In all of these videos you’ll see fans, including fellow musicians, enraptured in the moment.
Blakeslee is among the most colorful people that you could ever meet. His enthusiasm for life, in person and in song, is infectious. Heck, even his most somber compositions will invariably illicit a smile as one gets lost in the genuineness of his writing.
Both artists are gearing up for new albums. Lucas is touring to raise funds towards his next release, the follow-up to 2016’s outstanding Between the Moon and the Midwest.
Blakeslee has already recorded the follow-up to his 2014 gem Owed to the Tangled Wind and is plotting its upcoming release. You can support Blakeslee here.
