Ana Egge Premiere – Promises To Break

Wednesday, June 08, 2016 By Shawn Underwood

Last year I reviewed Ana Egge’s album, Bright Shadow.  She had a progressive folk sound that owed a lot to her back up band, the Stray Birds.  For her latest effort, Ana has thrown in with Danish indie band, The Sentimentals, to supplement her rich vocal talents.

Here at Twangville we’re darned happy to offer you a preview of that new album with the premiere of one of the cuts, Promises To Break.  The song was written in an old Danish farm house with  The Sentimentals M.C. Hansen.  It speaks to a common experience they had of leaving one’s home town to make it in the wider world.  Enjoy.

About the author:  I've actually driven from Tehatchapee to Tonopah. And I've seen Dallas from a DC-9 at night.
