Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds

The Sinclair, Cambridge MA: December 2013

My friend Josh Myers started playing bass in a band that I had recently started hearing buzz about and he informed me that they were playing near by. I showed up at The Sinclair in Cambridge on a Friday night not knowing what to expect. Led by Arleigh Kincheloe, Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds threw down funk, soul, and rock to a sold out audience. I found myself dancing in ways that I didn’t realize I was capable of! From new songs from their October 2013 EP release “Fight” to old favorites like Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel”, this band of birds gave a mesmerizing show that I couldn’t tear my eyes away from. Not even the recent theft of some of their equipment could slow them down. I really enjoyed photographing them partly because of the variety of band members and instruments. Be sure to check them out at www.sistersparrow.com !
