Monday Morning Video: Julie Peel, Jim Boggia, Bleu and Michael Jackson

Monday, October 25, 2010 By Mayer Danzig

Just back from two weeks in Europe for the day gig. Lots of running around, but you didn’t think that would get in the way of a few shows now, did you?

First up was Julie Peel playing a small club off the beaten path in Paris. Her quiet acoustic performance captivated the crowd, including the videographer who captured this footage.

Next was an incredible triple bill featuring Twangville faves Jim Boggia, Bleu and Tracy Bonham. Boggia confessed a current fixation with the uekele and illustrated the point with a stunning take on Bruce Springsteen’s “Thunder Road.” Here’s footage of him playing the song a few week’s earlier at New York’s Living Room.

Both Boggia and Bonham later joined Bleu for a dazzling take on Michael Jackson’s “Human Nature.” Again, no footage of that performance yet, but here’s a version of Bleu and Boggia performing the song last July in New York City.
