Twangville is pleased to launch a new periodic series that we call “You Pick It.” Here’s how it works. We’ll serve up videos of multiple artists covering a single song and ask you to pick the definitive version.
We’ll kick things off with one of my all-time favorites, The Replacements “Can’t Hardly Wait.” Replacements singer-songwriter Paul Westerberg kicks us off, followed by Marah, Justin Townes Earle (with special guest Jason Isbell), The Henry Clay People, Deer Tick, Jon Snodgrass & Two Cow Garage, Band of Horses and Declan.
You can, of course, select an artist not on our list, with bonus points if you can share a link to video or audio of said version.
