Newport Folk Festival 2010- Preview

Fort Adams State Park becomes the land of milk and honey once again this year. George Wein’s Newport Folk Fesitval will return on July 30th through August 1st. Gracing the main stage will be Levon Helm’s Ramble on the Road, John Prine, Yim Yames of My Morning Jacket, and Doc Watson & David Holt along with many others. I attended last year’s festival in the gorgeous, beautiful, and scenic Newport, Rhode Island and cannot recommend the experience enough. It’s definitely a more relaxed festival than some of the other big summer music fests. The two side stages are great for the intimate performances and the main stage is set up well to accommodate the full attendance crowds. Check out the initial line-up below and more info here
