Win Big: The Low Anthem

Monday, June 15, 2009 By Mayer Danzig

The Low Anthem
It has been one heck of a year for Providence, RI trio the Low Anthem. When we first wrote about the band in January, they had just recently self-released the magnificent Oh My God, Charlie Darwin. Fast forward six months and, as band member and baseball fan Jeff Prystowsky might say, it’s a whole new ball game.

Nonesuch Records – home of artists ranging from Wilco to David Byrne to Randy Newman – has just re-released the Charlie Darwin record to tremendous acclaim. Meanwhile, the band is impressing audiences across the United States and Europe and is performing at major festivals such as Bonnaroo, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza and the legendary Newport Folk Festival.

To celebrate the release, Twangville is giving away a limited edition 7” single signed by the band. Simply post a comment with your favorite baseball or other sports team below to be eligible to win. A winner will be selected at random when the contest ends on Friday, 19 June 09 at midnight ET.**

I suppose that there is only one question that remains. As Providence RI residents, are the band Boston Red Sox fans? I certainly hope so…

**By participating in Twangville contests you agree to allow Twangville to post the winner’s name and city on our web site. We pass along the winning addresses to the artist or promotions company for fulfillment. Twangville will not use your address for any other reason.
