Advice for Father’s Day

Friday, June 12, 2009 By Mayer Danzig

Father’s Day will soon be upon us and with it comes the sophomore release from Nashville’s Daddy. Daddy For a Second Time was reared by Tommy Womack and the mighty Will Kimbrough and is chock full of Southern-tinged acoustic rock, not to mention their trademark wit. Womack’s “Early to Bed, Early to Rise” offers up these fine pearls of wisdom:

But the real world’s comin’ on the midnight train, you’re gonna wake up in the mornin’ and everything’s changed, time’s are hard, you might not survive, eleven little words will keep you alive: Early to bed, early to rise, work like a dog and advertise.”

And the boys are pulling out all the stops to promote their self-released album. Check out this promotional clip.

Give these guys credit for their relentless promotion… and a fine sense of humor.
