Mayer’s Playlist for May 2009, a Video Companion

Monday, June 08, 2009 By Mayer Danzig

We’re back with another fine video playlist of nearly all live performances. We kick things off with John Paul Keith and the One Four Fives performing at the legendary Ardent Studios in Memphis. Other live showcases include Tim Easton (who rocks a bluesy number on his acoustic), Slaid Cleaves, Tift Merritt, These United States, John Wesley Harding, Annie Lynch and the Beekeepers, Daddy, John Boutte & Paul Sanchez (on a moving cover of Paul Simon’s “American Tune”) and Jack Oblivian & the Tennessee Tearjerkers (from MTV’s “$5 Cover”).

And if you want to get a true feel for Madrid’s The Right Ons, check out what happens when you set one of their tunes against classic “Soul Train” footage.
