Pearl Jam – Live at the Gorge

Tuesday, July 10, 2007 By matt

Pearl JamIf you’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing Pearl Jam live, you’ll understand when I say that Eddie Vedder has golden lungs.
Whether you’ve seen them in a large stadium or small club, their sound is all encompassing and Eddie Vedder’s voice is a large part of it. This Seven CD Box Set was recorded at one of the best musical venues in the USA, The Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington state – and does a great job of capturing the power of three great Pearl Jam shows.

I’m an old school Pearl Jam fan, and most of all I love their live stuff. If you’re a true Pearl Jam fan, this 100 song collection is a worthy purchase. They’re playing for a hometown crowd, in an incredible venue and Eddie Vedder is on fire. There’s no shortage of his grunts, hoots and howls on this disc all backed up with Pearl Jam’s legendary raging intensity. They cover all of their classics, and throw in covers of The Who, Tom Petty and of course Neil Young.
