Sam Roberts Band Released & More, Tom’s Take

Thursday, May 18, 2006 By Tom Osborne

Sam Roberts Band's Chemical CityGetting their start in the 8th grade as The Happy Death Men, the Sam Roberts Band from Montreal release their follow up album to 2003’s slammer We Were Born in Flame. Their latest is called Chemical City and it looks to be an excellent third effort. Look for this album to continue the power-pop licks from the previous album while rolling with the punches undeniably carving a path for a solid rock n’ roll career. Their bio describes the album best:

Real or surreal, quest or crusade, Chemical City brings this band of relentless road warriors back to fight the good fight against cynicism and complacency.

Sam Roberts (lead vocals, lead guitar-fearless), Josh Trager (lead drums), Eric Fares (guitar-vengeful, lead keyboards, backing vocals), James Hall (lead bass) and Dave Nugent (lead guitar-dangerous, lead backing vocals) round up the band. Preview album tracks on MySpace.
