Twangville Rating: 3.5 stars out of five

I don’t claim to be a big Randy Travis fan, though I do love his voice. He usually teeters on the “too country” side of the fence for me. But I find “Glory Train” differently. Its an all-acoustic gospel record introducing some beautiful bluegrass and soul. Its as if Travis opened a hymnal and magically brought it to life. Its a truely beautiful recording with some well known hymns and contemporary worship songs. I would never wish to push religion of any sort on anyone, but I think this album transcends for believers and non-believers alike. At its roots, Glory Train is a positive and emotional recording that many will enjoy.

Notable Tracks:
This Train
Swing Down Chariot
Down By The Riverside
Up Above My Head
