As SXSW passed this month, some new music is making it to the airwaves. With a tuned in ear to the Austin music festival I’ve admittedly added more alternative tunes than twang this month. Austin is the new Nashville and the festival highlights bands with an edge looking to make it in the music biz. Therefore, its important to keep an open mind as you look into some of these artists.
Some tunes from SXSW that made my April Playlist are Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs, Crooked Fingers, Copeland and Aimee Mann. In addition to those artists Josh Rouse, Kathleen Edwards, Eisley, Jack Johnson and Reckless Kelly are setting the standard for best releases of the year so far.
