Let me start out by saying that I’m a HUGE Ryan Adams Fan: 8 shows, 5 t-shirts, 1,255 songs in iTunes when I type in his name. There’s no way to classify Ryan’s music; rock, folk, punk, country- he does it all. I can find songs that are perfect for every mood that I’m ever in. I turn to Ryan when I’m driving to work, editing photos, eating dinner, processing a long day, you name it.
That being said, the purpose of this post is to highlight some of my favorite tunes from each record that he’s put out there, including his 1990’s alt-country band Whiskeytown (I won’t even get to mention the tons of unreleased material!). Beginning to listen to Ryan’s music can be daunting because there’s so much of it but now you will know where to start!
