Every Wednesday Brennan delivers a master-class in American music at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, Massachusetts. One minute it is a rockin’ Brennan original, the next minute a Merle Haggard cover rounded out with a Woodie Guthrie classic. The legendary Peter Wolf has been known to show up and occasionally perform with Brennan. I’m convinced he’s there as much to be inspired by Brennan’s mastery as he is to take a turn at the mic.
While I’ve never seen Stonehoney perform live, I can only imagine how impressive their Southern California country harmonies sound in concert. The combination of four songwriters each contributing a distinctive musical personality undoubtedly makes for an electrifying performance.
