Since things are always more fun when there are prizes involved, we’ll select one person at random to receive a special Ryan Adams prize pack.

Thanks to the fine folks at Filter Magazine, we’ve got a copy of Ryan’s latest release, “Easy Tiger” plus this special limited edition promotional poster. How cool is that?

To give you some ideas, we’ll start you off with the Filter staff’s own Best Yet lists.

**A winner will be selected through a random drawing of all individuals who post an album selection between 7/5 and 7/18. One entry per person. By participating in this contest you agree to allow Twangville to post your name and city on our web site.**

Jimmy Rankin’s Edge of Day. One of the best albums to come out of the Canada’s East Coast this year. Highlights include Slipping Away and Got to Leave Louisanna.

Tori Amos: “American Doll Posse” — Tori is definately on top of her game with this rockin’ album. Every song has it’s own charm and magic :)

    no question:

    Wilco - Sky Blue Sky

Ryan Adams “Easy Tiger”. Just the openong track alone more than makes up for the horrible “29″ cd. This is Ryan Adams at his best.

Beastie Boys - The Mix-Up. Just picked this up and it’s a surprising departure from anything the BB have done, an all instrumental album! Very cool and a great listen.

OK Mayer the obvious names I like Wilco, Patty Griffin and White Stripes for reasons well documented in the press.

Less obvious Wrinkle Neck Mules new one establishes them as one oif the premier Alt-Coountry acts, Hackensaw Boys see my review, and Assembly of Dust Jam Band faves that are incredible musicians and songwriters.

Ryan Adams- Easy Tiger. After releasing so many albums in the past few years, this one seems to have a different quality to it. It’s like his sober coming-out party and it just sounds cleaner and makes more sense. He’s done a lot of growing up and he and the Cardinals make this album spectacular.

i know everybody is talking about “Sky Blue Sky” but i think Son Volt’s “The Search” is better…Jay Farrar’s voice does it for me!

Honestly, this has been a pretty slow year for people who like their southern music with testosterone. There isn’t a single album I’ll always hold onto, but the new 1990’s, the new Kings of Leon, and the new Wilco do get some play from me.
