Josh Ritter - In The Dark, Live At Vicar Street

I’ve learned all too well that the Holiday Shopping season has commenced.  Borders has been packed with people buying gifts left and right, and in that spirit, I wanted to make sure you all got the heads up on Josh Ritter’s new live CD/DVD combo, “In The Dark”.  It won’t be released until November 24th and it is technically only available in Ireland, but kind chap that he is, Ritter has made sure fans everywhere can get their hands on it.  Just go to RoadRecords to order it now and they’ll ship it out as soon as possible.  There is a live stream of both the CD and the DVD, both of which include his stories (and anyone who has seen him live can attest to the fact that his stories rival his music in terms of entertainment value).  The track list for the CD is as follows (the DVD has some additional stuff on it):

1. Idaho

2. Good Man

3. Me & Jiggs

4. Harrisburg

5. Wings

6. One More Mouth

7. Lillian, Egypt

8. Kathleen

9. Best For the Best

10. Girl In The War

11. Thin Blue Flame

12. Snow Is Gone

13. Leaving

Hahaha, I was just cruising myspace and I saw this: Chilis is having a contest for a remake of the Baby Back Ribs theme song… this should be interesting.

Ps-the winner gets a meeting with a record label. Sweet.

[…] 4. In The Dark - Josh Ritter   An irish album recorded by an Idaho boy.  You can’t buy it in stores state-side but it is available on his website (or was, at any rate, I think it might have been a limited printing).  On ‘Snow is Gone’ and ‘Lillian, Egypt’, the crowd gets going so loudly that you can clearly hear the lyrics they’re singing and Ritter feeds off the energy.  Easily one of the best live albums I’ve ever bought.      […]
