Jabe Beyer to Showcase at NEMO

jabe beyer promoRoots-rocker, multi-instrumentalist, producer and acclaimed singer-songwriter Jabe Beyer will showcase with his band JABE this Saturday night at midnight at The Abbey Lounge in Somerville as part of the NEMO music festival. Beyer recently won the 2006 NEMO Music Makers songwriting competition sponsored by Starbucks New England. The accolade awards him a trip to the BMI Kuaui Music Festival in Hawaii and a new addition to his list of many credits.

Beyer is also nominated for the 2006 Boston Music Awards in the Male Singer/Songwriter category and his namesake band JABE has been nominated as best Folk Act. In the past, he has won several Boston Music Awards as well as the Abe Oleman Songwriting Award from the Songwriting Hall of Fame with his band JABE.

Fresh off the road from Nashville and the 2006 Americana Music Conference where Beyer made a surprise appearance on stage with Sarah Borges and the Broken Singles at their AMA showcase, Beyer continues to promote his most recent self-produced release “Where Are We Going and When Do We Get There” (Hi-N-Dry). The record features many local Boston luminaries such as Kris Delmhorst, Dana Colley and Duke Levine, and was mixed by studio wizard Paul Q. Kolderie.

Seacoast Entertainment claims, “Jabe Beyer is really a noteworthy songwriter. Lyrically he has a clever way with phrasing and metaphor, and melodically he has remained instinctive and infectious.” The Boston Herald says, “Beyer’s albums have only gotten sharper… arriving on his fourth album at a moody sort of post-Eagles country rock. It’s a move that makes the most of his gift for insinuating hooks and lines.”

Catch Beyer this Saturday, September 30 at midnight at The Abbey Lounge, 3 Beacon Street in Somerville, MA where his band JABE will showcase their talents to old fans, new fans and industry professionals alike.
