Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, On the Radar

grace potter and the nocturnals

Brace yourself. You are about to be blown away by Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, Vermont’s latest contribution to music. Not only does the 22-year-old Potter have the vocal guns to stand tall with predecessors like Susan Tedeschi, Bonnie Raitt and Janis Joplin to name a few, she’s also unreal on the Hammond B-3 and is backed up by an astonishing group of roots-rock players consisting of Scott Tournet (guitar/slide guitar), Matthew Burr (drums/percussion), and Bryan Dondero (upright/electric bass). You may have seen them on billings for national acts such as Trey Anastasio, Soulive, Dave Matthews, and North Mississippi All-Stars.

One thing is for sure, if you are going to be at this year’s Bonnaroo Festival, you have got to see these guys jam. The only downside is that you’ll have to choose between Grace Potter and Jackie Greene on Saturday afternoon of the festival. The good news is that Potter & co. start 30 minutes earlier. So my recommendation is to split the time between both of these up and coming artists. For more on Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, check their profile on MySpace.
