It’s been two years since progressive string band Front Country parlayed their Best Band wins at Telluride and Rockygrass into their first album, the critically-acclaimed Sake Of The Sound. Â Since then they’ve been touring practically non-stop, playing everywhere from a cave in Tennessee to the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco.
While that hasn’t given them time to record a follow-on album, they’ve spent a lot of time together in a confined space (the van’s name is Hildegard).  The result is an EP of covers they’ve worked on that sometimes make their way into a live show.  Mixtape is due to be released May 13th, but we have a premier for you of one of the cuts, Three Of A Perfect Pair.  It’s a King Crimson song that really showcases the progressive side of the band’s influences.  So between Mixtape and a probable tour stop at a venue near you, you have your Front Country fix for the summer.
